<description>Brkly called on me to help out with some logo designs for a new show called Duets. My concept came from the idea that the voices from the contestants would be intertwined and in unison. I used the two colors in an abstract equalizer to illustrate this. I created both a light and dark version. Wish they were animated!

Mimi Pond, Wayne White's wife, illustrated a comic that appears in the documentary Beauty Is Embarrassing, a film produced by Future You Pictures and Directed by Neil Berkeley. I was working at BRKLY and excited to contribute something to such a fantastic movie. These hand drawn illustrations were stripped apart and animated. It was really fun giving life to these drawings- and what was really interesting was the fact that when I was finished, I really felt as if I knew these people. Wayne White came through the door one day and I said hello to him like I've known him for years.

Aside from the production, this project was a solo act. I animated this and designed on the fly.

Over at Oishii, we were knee deep in NFL branding. I was lucky enough to be part of campaign that promoted the next Super Bowl. It was a live action campaign that incorporated NFL heavy weights manipulating an interactive table with our designed graphics composited on it. I was leading the R/D for this project and above are the motion tests. My hairy hand is in the first movie- which was just shot in a garage with no lighting or anything. The real trick was how to make the graphics "stick" or not "stick" to the hand manipulating it, as well as retaining a natural look.

Check out the finished spots for NFL-Post Season at Oishii Creative

Below are other tests where I began using C4D to add natural motion to the graphics but then dynamically bounce back to a position reminiscent to a tablet graphic interface. In the end, we used After Effects for all the table tracked graphics.

<description>The good peeps at Lussier hired me to design interstitials and an end page for American Dad. I previously created a package for American Dad that they loved, so they came back for more- always a good sign. These projects are super fun to do, and Lussier gives me a lot of creative freedom. Below are two different concepts I presented, they ended up choosing the "airshow" version.

<description>Brkly asked me to help on a continuing Food Network job called Around The World In 80 Plates. The logo was already approved when I designed these style frames, so I just added my 2 cents. The concept for my frames is that the "trails" are the same bands that make up the latitude and longitude frames in the end frame globe. As the plane travels from one location to the next, it draws on and creats the landscapes for our chefs to be introduced.

<description>The good peeps at Brkly called on me to help out with some logo designs for a new HGTV show called White Room Challenge. The contestants start with a completely white room and design it in a competition. Best design and use of materials wins. I designed this logo in the same vein as the old MTV logo where the interior walls would always switch out. I love logos like this because you can update them and keep them fresh but still maintain the integrity of the design.

<description>Brkly hired me to help out on a sales pitch to conceptualize a new show- but instead of style frames or storyboards, they wanted a one-sheet that said it all in one image. In the vein of X Factor or American Idol, this talent show uses an online social aspect as their judges. These judges determine the winners. It's a tough assignment to design something like this without making it look like the Architect's room in the Matrix, so I'm really happy with the way these posters came together.

<description>Hallmark had me redesign their Movie Channel for 2010. There was a lot of exploration for this. They wanted to keep that movie feel, but also get away from the look they've had through out the years which was light based animation. I like the exploration frames, but in retrospect, the direction we went with was the obvious choice. I think I was able to take the desired styleand push it further so it became something a little more unique than just another light based animation style. I designed the entire package and created the initial animation that set the tone for rest of the motion work.

<description>Most of the illustration I do these days is for drawing storyboards for large 3d projects, like for Aol Studios or something to compliment a styleframe like Huge. Other times, while waiting for a render, I'll let my mind wander and just draw random things using a pen (where mistakes are permanent).
